I'm going to be using this for various outdoor activities. Probably a lot of hiking, maybe some climbing or canyoneering. I'm accumulating crossbody and hip bags lately, because I've learned that I LOVE being able to keep a significant amount of essential frequently-accessed stuff on the front of my body. I put stuff in them like snacks, flashlights/headlamps, my phone, navigation, things like that.
I also do search and rescue, and I've recently switched my SAR kit from having a chest harness to a big hip pack like this, and it's great. I even keep a trauma kit front and center that way, so if I ever need to stop some bleeding I've got everything I need accessible without even taking my pack off first, much less digging something out of it.
